Snacks and Miscellaneous

Vegetable Pilau Rice

This is such a great addition to a dahl (Indian lentil stew), curry or as a base to lie kebabs on. It is a Madhur Jaffrey recipe but can handle some variations in which vegetables go in etc.

Moroccan Preserved Lemons

When you have a glut of lemons it's time to make these. They add a salty, citrus zing to all kids of dishes such as tagines, salads and salsas.

Beetroot Seed Crackers

These crackers have no gluten so they cater for your gluten free friends as well as the rest of us who find them delicious! The seeds add lots of fibre, some protein and valuable omega three oils. The addition of beetroot makes them a great colour too!

Eggplant,Olive and Sundried Tomato Tapenade

Equally good as a spread, dip or part of an antipasto platter, this tapenade has gutsy flavours and is so easy to make.

Satay Sauce

Satay is a really delicious Indonesian or Thai sauce for meat or vegetables. The peanuts are full of protein and healthy fats. The perfect way to dress up a ho-hum meal!

A delicious accompaniment to grilled fish, seafood or meat. Chimmichurra can also be used as a marinade and it is super fast and easy to make.

Middle Eastern Carrot Dip

Another healthy vegetable based dip for healthier snacks and pre dinner nibbles!

Marinated Olives

So quick and easy, perfect for a pre-dinner appetiser.

Bliss Balls

These are such a versatile healthy snack. You can make a big batch and keep in the fridge for several weeks, or freeze half the mixture and roll some more in coconut when you're ready. With fibre from dates, nuts and seeds and no added refined sugar, they are not a bad sweet hit or lunch box addition. They are certainly not low calorie though so don't be fooled!

Cambodian Lettuce Wraps

A favourite every time I make it for a party. Lots of healthy and raw ingredients make this a delicious and unusual finger food which gets everyone involved in making their own wrap.
